Voyager 1 violet filter image of Jupiter's northern hemisphere.
This image was taken on 4 March 1979, one day before closest
approach, from a distance of 1.5 million km. The Jovian belts
and zones can be seen in the atmosphere, and a slow-moving
feature known as the "barge" is at the center of the image.
The frame is about 80,000 km across and north is at 11:00.
