The CD contains data from the COBE Differential Microwave Radiometers experiment, which detected for the first time and characterized the large-scale cosmic microwave background anisotropy. In particular, the CD contains 4-year, 2-year, and 1-year Sky Maps (i.e., maps based on data collected over various time intervals during the 4-year COBE mission), Pixelized Differential Data Sets, and the DMR Explanatory Supplement. In addition to Sky Maps from each of the six DMR channels (3 frequencies, 2 nearly-independent channels each), the CD includes a set of Analyzed Science Data Sets, which are Sky Maps representing three Galactic emission components (dust, free-free, and synchrotron) and CMB anisotropy maps derived by two methods. All of the data are in FITS binary tables.
