This data set contains digital elevation maps of the nucleus of comet 19P/Borrelly based on images taken by the Deep Space 1 Miniature Integrated Camera and Spectrometer (MICAS) during its flyby on 22 September 2001. The maps cover the area of Borrelly that was illuminated and visible during the flyby. The model was computed using the parallax, caused by the spacecraft's motion, between the three highest resolution images. The data set contains two DEMs, one created by the USGS and one by DLR (Germany). The DEM data are presented in individual ASCII files (one each for the USGS and DLR models) listing X, Y and Z coordinates for the grid points. The USGS model also provides the corresponding Nx, Ny, and Nz elements of the unit surface normal vector at each point. This is PDS data set DS1-C-MICAS-5-BORRELLY-DEM-V1.0 held on CD volume SAO502_0001.
