This data collection consists of full resolution, summary data files for interplanetary solar wind from the Pioneer 10 Plasma Analyzer. These data files have been converted to ASCII format from the Version 3.1 final archive (NSSDC ID # 72-012A-13L) originally submitted to NSSDC in VMS binary format. The plasma bulk parameters (bulk velocity, proton number density, proton temperature, and flow angles) were obtained using one of three processing schemes described in the data set documentation. Individual points in the Summary (high resolution) data set are flagged with a 'data quality index' (BADREC) that indicates the reliability of each point as described in the data set description. Summary data files with names p10plasm_YYYY.asc include one year of data (YYYY = 1972 to 1995). Documentation for this and other Version 3.1 data sets are provided in SFDU format in ascii text file P10PLA_VOLDESC.SFDU, and the original format for the binary summary data set is given in FORMATSM.SFDU. The FORTRAN source code PIOPLASM.FOR from file PIOPLASM.SFDU was used to convert the original binary files to ASCII format. The sequence of data fields in the ASCII version is the same as in the original binary format and each ASCII field is separated by one blank space. Data field names are listed at the top of each data column.
