These electric field data are on binary magnetic tape created on an ICL system 4/72 computer. The first word of each physical record is the modified Julian day followed by two dummy words. These words are followed by an array of 99 values for time (in seconds), ES and ED values (in millivolts/meter). The S-axis (ES value) is perpendicular to the B-axis (B-vector) and lies in the plane which contains the local dc magnetic field vector and the direction of the sun; the orientation of the S-axis is so chosen that the angle which it makes with the sun direction lies between -90 deg and +90 deg. The D-axis (ED value) completes the orthogonal system of reference. The components ES and ED are given at fixed intervals of the order of 6.9 s.
