This data set, CDF HK_H0_MAG, contains investigator-provided magnetic field data at 1.9-second resolution from the Hawkeye magnetometer instrument, as made available via NSSDC's interactive WWW interface CDAWeb.
The data set contains despun data including the following parameters: scalar magnetic field strength; vector magnetic field in Cartesian GSM and SM coordinates ; spacecraft radial distance from the center of Earth; spacecraft position in Cartesian GSM and SM coordinates; despin method indicator (0: not despun; 1: optical aspect; 2: sun pulse; 3: array voltage; 4: mag field model; 4/5: solar array method); and an estimate of the angular uncertainty in magnetic field direction (set to zero for despin = 1 or 2).
For a recent paper on despinning technique, see Boardsen, S. and R.L. Kessel, Spin Index Determination of the Hawkeye Spacecraft, J. Spacecraft and Rockets, 39, 780-787, 2002.
CDAWeb is available at http://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/cdaweb and supports: (1) graphical browse display of user-selected parameters and time intervals; (2) downloading of user-selected parameters in ASCII; and (3) downloading of data in CDF format.
Empty (no actual data) master CDFs for the CDAWeb CDFs are maintained in the CDAWeb system at NSSDC. These are the latest versions of the labeling, display, and explanatory information carried by the CDF structure for this data set. When a screen plot or an ASCII listing is obtained from CDAWeb, the master CDF information is automatically used and displayed. However, when the user obtains data by downloading CDFs from CDAWeb, the master CDF should also be obtained separately, as its content may well differ from that of the data CDFs, which remain unchanged.
