Mission Name: Gemini 4The two-color earth limb photography experiment was designed to define the earth's limb by photographing the daylight horizon with a blue and red filter. Photos of the earth's limb were taken with a hand-held 70-mm hasselblad camera. The pictures were taken looking forward, in the direction of orbit as judged by the astronaut. A series of three photos each were taken at intervals of about 5 min during the sunlit part of one orbit during the June 3 - 6, flight. A two color (red in the center and blue on the sides) filter mosaic was mounted closely in front of the focal plane. Densitometric evaluations were done on the photos.
