Mission Name: Gemini 12An objective grating spectrograph was designed to measure the spectral albedo of the moon between 2000 and 3000 A. The spectral irradiance of the moon's surface was obtained by relating microdensitometer traces of the lunar spectrograms to calibration spectrograms. The UV spectrograph consisted of a 70-mm general purpose grating attachment. A F/3.3 UV achromatic lens with quality lithium fluoride elements and a 7.3-cm focal length were used with the camera.
