Mission Name: ESA-GEOS 1This investigation (part of the ESA S-300 wave experiment) employed four mesh spheres mounted at the end of the 2.5-m axial booms. Differential measurements from these sensors provided the three vector components of the electric field. Frequencies from 50 Hz to 77 kHz could be analyzed with the sweep-frequency analyzer and the digital correlator. Frequencies up to 450 Hz could be telemetered directly, and auto-correlation and/or cross-correlation of the sensor outputs up to 77 kHz could be accomplished with selectable bandwidths of 2.5, 5.0, or 10.0 kHz. The sensitivity of the mesh sphere probes at 10 kHz was 1.0E-6 volts per meter per square root of Hz.
