Mission Name: Dynamics Explorer 2This investigation used data from various spacecraft instruments to study the following: (1) global thermospheric dynamics (the effects of energy input to the thermosphere from the magnetosphere by convection, Joule heating, particle precipitation and tidal energy), (2) the convective coupling of the thermal plasma between the ionosphere and magnetosphere; and (3) the energy-loss mechanisms of ionospheric photoelectrons in the plasmasphere.
