Mission Name: Galileo OrbiterThis interdisciplinary scientist (IDS) investigation utilized data from the infrared (NIMS) and ultraviolet (UVS/EUV) experiments on the orbiter and from the composition (NMS and HAD) and nephelometer (NEP) experiments on the probe. Its objectives were to: (1) study the organic chemistry of the Jovian atmosphere; and, (2) determine the nature of the organic and inorganic chromophores that produce the colors visible in Jovian clouds.
