Mission Name: CONTOURThe CONTOUR Remote Imager/Spectrograph (CRISP) is designed to return high-resolution images, color images, and infrared spectral maps of the comets. CRISP consists of a scan mirror, which reflects light into a 100 mm aperture, 683 mm focal length telescope. A beamsplitter sends light with wavelengths shorter than 800 nm to an imager and longer wavelength light to a spectrometer. The imager has a 10 position filter wheel, one clear filter and nine filters with full-width, half maximum of 40 nm centered at 450, 490, 530, 570, 610, 650, 690, 730, and 770 nm. The light is focused onto a 1024 x 1024 pixel CCD with a field of view of 1.2 x 1.2 degrees. Typical exposure times are 9-150 ms. The longer wavelength light passes through a narrow slit to the spectrometer, where it is divided into 256 different near-infrared wavelength from 800 nm to 2500 nm. A two-dimensional image is produced on a mercury cadmium telluride (HgCdTe) detector cooled to 90 K, one direction corresponding to spatial position along the slit and the other direction to wavelength. The spectrometer field of view is 0.86 x 0.003 degrees, exposure time is 0.2 seconds.
