Mission Name: Chandrayaan 1 Lunar OrbiterThe Sub-Atomic Reflection Analyzer (SARA) consists of a low energy neutral atom (LENA) sensor and a solar wind monitor. SARA will detect low energy (10 eV to 3 keV) neutral atoms. It comprises an electrostatic deflector, an ionization surface, a time of flight measurement device and an electrostatic analyzer. The mass resolution will allow distinction of H, O, Na-Mg, K-Ca and Fe group elements with a spatial resolution of about 100 meters. SARA will also be used to study surface magnetic anomalies. Studies of lunar exosphere sources and space weathering on the Moon will also be attempted.
