Cosmos 143 was a first generation, low resolution Soviet photo surveillance satellite launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome aboard a Vostok 2 rocket. The film capsule was recovered after 8 days. The satellite was placed into orbit with a 22.8 second period different from that planned. The satellite also carried a science package.
