Tiantuo I, a Chinese nanosatellite, was launched on 10 May 2012 from Taiyun at 07:06 UT on a Long March 4B rocket. The nanosatellite weighed 9.3 kg and will complete a mission dedicated to optical imaging, detection of on-orbit atomic oxygen and receiving signals from the marine Automatic Identification System (AIS) that is currently in its testing phase. The microsatellite was developed and built by the National University of Defense Technology.
