WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN THIS WORKSHOP:

You should participate in this workshop if you are willing to participate in this ongoing standards process by attending workshops and generating material to advance the Reference Model on archiving of information, with an emphasis on digital data.

Those who only want to critique the output of workshops or simply track the effort can do so by reviewing the material available on the WWW beginning at:

http://bolero.gsfc.nasa.gov/nost/isoas/us/overview.html [Webmaster's Note: Now at: http://ssdoo.gsfc.nasa.gov/nost/isoas/us/overview.html]

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS WORKSHOP

You need to send your clearance information to APL, as described above, by 3 July if you want to have a NO ESCORT badge. Otherwise, you will need an escort to leave the conference rooms.

After sending your clearance information to APL, you also need to register with the workshop chair, Don Sawyer. Either complete the registration form for the Fourth US Workshop at:

http://bolero.gsfc.nasa.gov/nost/isoas/us/registration_form.html [Webmaster's Note: Now at: http://ssdoo.gsfc.nasa.gov/nost/isoas/us/registration_form.html]

OR

send an E-mail or FAX message to Don Sawyer.

E-mail: sawyer@ncf.gsfc.nasa.gov
FAX: 301 286-1771
Phone: 301 286-2748

If you have NOT participated previously, please register your overall interest in this process along with full contact information by using the WWW form at:

http://bolero.gsfc.nasa.gov/nost/isoas/us/registration_form.html [Webmaster's Note: Now at: http://ssdoo.gsfc.nasa.gov/nost/isoas/us/registration_form.html]

OR
Complete the attached process registration form given below. (If you attended the previous US workshop or if you previously registered as a participant in the US efforts, you have already completed this step.)

For planning purposes, we require participants to complete their registration by 3 July, 1996.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THIS WORKSHOP

You should be familiar with the objectives and results from the Third US Workshop and the Second CCSDS/ISO Workshop. These materials will be available on the WWW by 24 June, beginning at:
http://bolero.gsfc.nasa.gov/nost/isoas/us/overview.html [Webmaster's Note: Now at: http://ssdoo.gsfc.nasa.gov/nost/isoas/us/overview.html]

Updates to these pages occur frequently. In addition, a new version of the Reference Model concept paper incorporating results from the previous workshops will be available on the WWW by 3 July, 1996.

You should also read the revised, and final, version of the "Preserving Digital Information" paper from the Task Force on Archiving of Digital Information available, listed under 'What's New', at:

http://www-rlg.stanford.edu/

If you have no reasonable way to get materials from the WWW, and you want copies, please let Don Sawyer know. We can make a limited amount of material available in other ways.
