On October 19-20, 1995, the Astronomical Data Center (ADC) hosted a visit by Dr. Francoise Genova to Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). Several months ago, Dr. Genova was appointed director of the Centre de DonnŽes Astronomiques de Strasbourg (CDS), France, after leading the Astronomical Space Missions division of the French Space Agency, CNES. The ADC and the CDS work closely together to archive important astronomical catalogs and journal tables. During a productive visit to Goddard, Dr. Genova gave a well-attended lecture on "Information Retrieval in Astronomy: The CDS Activities," met with the ADC staff to discuss topics of mutual interest and ways to enhance the ADC-CDS collaboration, and attended demonstrations of the ADC's new on-line service and two other Astrophysics Data Facility (ADF) user interface projects: the Web Interface for Searching Archival Research Data (WISARD) and the Astrophysics Multi-Spectral Archive Search Engine (AMASE). World Wide Web home pages for the two data centers are located at the following addresses: CDS- http://cdsweb.u-strasbg.fr/CDS.html; ADC- http://adc.gsfc.nasa.gov/adc.html.
