A CD-ROM containing the data taken by the Giotto spacecraft during its July 10, 1992, encounter with Comet 26P/Grigg-Skjellerup is now available from NSSDC. The CD, produced by the European Space Agency and the Small Bodies Node of NASA's Planetary Data System, contains data from the Dust Impact Detector, Energetic Particle Analyzer, Radio Science Experiment, Ion Mass Spectrometer, Johnstone Plasma Analyzer, Magnetometer, and Optical Probe Experiment. The Giotto camera was not working, so no images were taken, but a collection of 35 Earth-based charge-coupled device (CCD) images of the comet are included. All files are in Flexible Image Transport System (FITS) format and documentation on the encounter, instruments, and data sets is also on the CD.
