The National Space Science Data Center distributes a great many CD-ROM titles holding data from several NASA space science missions. Some are created by NSSDC, and many are created by other NASA groups with the Planetary Data System being the most prolific of these. Many of the most popular CDs hold planetary image data while other CDs hold many other types of data.
NSSDC has been distributing CD-ROMs for about seven to eight years and has had a network-accessible catalog of its CD-ROMs available for close to five years. This catalog was initially NODIS-based (NSSDC On-Line Data and Information Services--NSSDC's now-retired "captive account") but has been World Wide Web-based for the last three years.
The NSSDC CD-ROM Catalog in particular has a new look. Requesters are now able to order CD-ROMs on line with NSSDC's Secure Server using their credit cards. The ordering procedures have changed for the better. It is easier to browse, and price of the order total is calculated for the requester. Please take a look at http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/cd-rom/.
