BepiColombo

BepiColombo is a European Space Agency (ESA) Cornerstone mission to Mercury scheduled for launch in August, 2009. The mission involves three components: the Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO), the Mercury Magnetospheric Orbiter (MMO), and the Mercury Surface Element (MSE). These will be used to study Mercury's form, interior structure, geology, composition, craters, origin, structure and dynamics of its magnetic field, and composition and dynamics of the vestigial atmosphere. The mission is still in its planning stages and details are subject to change.
