The Comet Nucleus Tour (CONTOUR) is a NASA Discovery mission which launched on 3 July 2002. The primary objectives of CONTOUR were flybys of three comets: Encke, Schwassmann-Wachmann-3 and d'Arrest. However, contact with the spacecraft was lost on 15 August 2002 for unknown reasons. CONTOUR was equipped with an imager, spectrograph, dust analyzer, and a mass spectrometer.
