MESSENGER

Mercury Surface, Space Environment, Geochemistry and Ranging (MESSENGER) is a NASA Discovery mission scheduled for launch in July 2004. The primary objectives of MESSENGER will be to study Mercury from orbit for a period of one Earth year. MESSENGER will be equipped with an imaging system, x-ray, ultraviolet, energetic particle and plasma, gamma-ray and neutron spectrometers, laser altimeter, magnetometer and radio science experiments.
