Nozomi (Planet-B) is an ISAS (Japan) mission to orbit Mars and study martian aeronomy, particularly the Mars' upper atmosphere, ionosphere, and the interactions with the solar wind. Originally named Planet-B, the name was changed to Nozomi (Japanese for Hope) after launch on 3 July 1998. Nozomi will reach Mars and go into orbit in December of 2003.
