Rosetta is a European Space Agency (ESA) mission which launched on 2 March 2004. The Rosetta mission is designed to study comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko from orbit and to drop a lander, Philae, onto the surface. Rosetta is scheduled to encounter Churyumov-Gerasimenko in November 2014.
