Triton - Voyager 2
Cantaloupe terrain on Neptune's moon Triton
Voyager 2 image of the "cantaloupe" terrain near the
south pole of Neptune's largest satellite, Triton.
This complex, mottled landscape may be due in part to
viscous flow and collapse on the surface. This image
was taken with the narrow angle camera through the
clear filter, and has a resolution of about 0.4 km/pixel.
The frame is roughly 320 km across and north is up.
