Saturn's Satellite, Enceladus, from 112,000 km
Voyager 2 image of Saturn's satellite, Enceladus, taken from a
distance of 112,000 km. This 500 km diameter moon appears to be
one of the more active bodies in the solar system, with heavily
cratered areas, large sub-parallel grooves, and smooth plains
exposed on its surface. The heavily cratered north polar region
is at upper left. The resolution of this image is about 1 km/pixel.
