The Apollo 9 Lunar Module photographed from the Command Module, "Gumdrop," on the fifth day of the earth-orbital mission. Astronaut, Dave Scott took the photograph from the Command Module, "Gumdrop." The LM landing gears have been extended for a lunar landing configuration test. Lunar surface probes (sensors) come out of the lunar foot pads. The lunar module is flying upside down in reference to the earth below. Inside the Lunar Module are commander, Jim McDivitt and lunar module pilot, Russell Schweickart. (Apollo 9, AS09-21-3212)
