Jupiter - Voyager 1

Jupiter
Voyager 1 image of the mid-latitude region of Jupiter, taken on 2 March 1979 from a distance of 4 million km. The image shows the high speed north temperate current, with wind speeds of 120 meters per second as a pale orange band running across the lower center of the image. Above this a slower jet, ~30 m/s, exhibits wave features. The image is about 20,000 km across, the largest resolvable features are about 75 km. North is at 11:00. (Voyager 1, P-21193)
