Saturn's Rings - Voyager 2

False color image of Saturn's C and B rings

Saturn's Rings
Voyager 2 false-color image of Saturn's rings taken from 2.7 million km. The C-ring (blue) and the B-ring (at top and left) are shown here. The color difference may indicate different surface composition of ring material. The enhanced color was produced using images taken with the ultraviolet, clear, and green filters. The actual color of C-ring material is very bland and gray. The C-ring is about 17,000 km across. (Voyager 2, P-23927)
