These reformatted data are reduced geodetic observations obtained by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory (SAO) Laser Tracking System. The IBM data tapes are multifiled with each file containing data for one of the following satellites - BE-C, GEOS-A, GEOS-B, GEOS-C, Starlette, LAGEOS, and SEASAT-A. There are a variable number of 90-byte logical records per physical block. Each record contains satellite identification; measurement type; time system indicator; station identification; GMT of observation in year, day of year, seconds and microseconds of day; preprocessing indicators; observation data (range or range difference); transponder channel and type; reference station number; relay satellite identification (for satellite-to-satellite data); surface pressure and temperature; relative humidity at surface; measurement standard deviation; range ambiguity indicator; tropospheric refraction correction; center of mass correction; and flags for speed of light constant and application of center of mass correction.
