Plots of Hourly Averaged Plasma Parameters (Digitized)

Availability: At NSSDC, Ready for Offline Distribution (or Staging if Digital)

Time span: 1969-11-20 to 1976-03-25

This collection consists of digitized microfilm frames containing experimenter-generated plots of hourly averaged plasma parameters as functions of time, with 22 days per frame. Contained in each plot are the hourly averaged proton bulk speed, most probable thermal speed, proton density, and angle of flow from the hourly averaged data in data set PSFP-00117 that satisfied criterion 2, i.e., which had small root-mean-square error on curve fitting and thermal speeds less than one-half the bulk speed.

For this digitization effort the NSSDCA scanned the source microfilm collection PSFP-00020 at a resolution of 400 dots per inch and output each frame on the film as one TIFF file. The NSSDCA also combined groups of these TIFF images into multipage PDF files to facilitate browsing. Both formats are included in this collection.
