Seismic Event Compressed Scale Selected Moonquakes

NSSDCA ID: PSPG-00663

Availability: At NSSDC, Ready for Offline Distribution (or Staging if Digital)

Time span: 1972-05-27 to 1975-04-23

Description

This data set consists of a magnetic tape of selected moonquakes with matching signal characteristics (type A events). About 60 different matching types have been observed as of November 1, 1975. The best of these events observed at most stations are contained in this data set. Each frame of data on the tape consists of eighteen 36-bit words. The first three words contain timing, synchronization, and error information. The remaining words contain the recorded seismic data. Each seismic data segment contains 10 bits, or a range from 1 to 1023 digital units (DU). Sensor equilibrium data values are near 500 digital units. The tape was written in binary on a PDP-15 computer.
