Mapping Camera Photography Support Data (Digitized)

Availability: Data Identified but not Received

Time span: 1972-12-11 to 1972-12-16

This collection consists of digitized microfilm frames containing support data for the metric (mapping) camera photography from the Apollo 17 mission. The parameters covered in the data for the photography are -- orbital vectors, longitude and latitude of nadir point, longitude and latitude of camera axis intersect, spacecraft radius and altitude, azimuth velocity vector and horizontal velocity, scale factor, mean altitude rate, tilt angle and azimuth, sun elevation, azimuth of principal point, longitude and latitude of subsolar point, emission and phase angle, swing, north deviation angles, tilt, heading and laser slant range. The beginning frames contain summary tables and explanatory information on the parameters listed above. Quality of reproduction is good.

For this digitization effort the NSSDCA scanned the source microfilm collection PSPG-00561 at a resolution of 400 dots per inch and output each frame on the film as one TIFF file. The NSSDCA also combined groups of these TIFF images into multipage PDF files to facilitate browsing. Both formats are included in this collection.

These support data are available as ASCII tables in this peer-reviewed PDS data set:
