This data set includes hardcopy tabulations of all raw data obtained with the Meteoroid Detector Experiments (MDE) on Pioneer 10 and 11. The tabulations include only the time interval for each impact event during which the channel 0 and 1 counters changed. These intervals were resolved sometimes within a few seconds and at other times within days or months. Users should consult the report NASA TN-7691 (available on microfiche under NSSDC ID B22845-000A) for a description of the instruments and how they work. Research Triangle Institute Report NASA CR-132635 (not held by NSSDC) further describes the behavior of the instruments under conditions of extreme cold at great distances from the Sun. Users will need to know the trajectory and attitude of the spacecraft to make optimal use of the data. A geometrical description of the spacecraft with the location of the MDE sensors will also be needed.
