Apollo 17 ALSEP Work-Tape Lunar Ejecta and Meteorites Experiment Level 1b Raw Cleaned (Corrected) Binary Files

NSSDCA ID: PSSB-01475

Availability: At NSSDC, Ready for Offline Distribution (or Staging if Digital)

Time span: 1976-03-01 to 1976-07-18

Description

The collection consists of 287 binary files of raw cleaned measurements acquired by the Lunar Ejecta And Meteorites (LEAM) Experiment for the time span of 01 March through 18 July 1976, which were the last 140 days of LEAM operation. The binary files contain Apollo 17 LEAM data extracted from the ALSEP normal-bit-rate Work-Tape binary files archived in NSSDCA data set PSPG-00739. They are written as unformatted direct access binary files of fixed record length of 20 bytes. The file format and record layout are described in the data set description document, WT-LEAM-L-1b-desciption.pdf. This data set also includes, for documentation purposes only, the Fortran programs and supplemental inputs used by the data provider to extract data from the Work-Tape files and produce the raw LEAM binary files in this collection.

An ASCII version of these data is in peer-review and will be available on-line at the Planetary Data System: https://pds-geosciences.wustl.edu/lunar/urn-nasa-pds-a17leam_raw_worktape/.
