Voyager 1 Cosmic Ray Experiment 6-Hr Cruise Mode Archive

NSSDCA ID: SPHE-00314

Availability: At NSSDC, Ready for Electronic Access

Time span: 1977-09-07 to 2005-06-30

Description

This data set consists of Voyager (1 or 2) Cosmic Ray Experiment flux values and counting rate data in six hour averages during interplanetary cruise from the two High Energy Telescopes, the four Low Energy Telescopes, and the Proton Electron Telescope. Proton and helium flux data are expressed in units of particles/(cm**2.sec.ster.MeV/nuc) and are accompanied by statistical errors in the same units. Counting rates from various singles and coincidence modes of the multiple telescopes' detectors are given in counts per second. Each data file covers up to one year of data in ASCII, variable length record format and includes header information identifying the specific coincidence logic conditions for the included data parameters. The data files are accompanied by a comprehensive ASCII text document describing the Voyager mission, the experiment objectives, instrument operating modes and calibration details, data set processing, and format for data set parameters. Another text file provides a list of related publications.
