This (now obsolete) data set from the solar wind plasma electron instrument on the Ulysses SWOOPS experiment includes high resolution (2-11 min.) data for electron total, core, and halo densities and for the corresponding electron densities. The core and halo regions of the measured electron energy spectrum from each time interval correspond to thermal electrons below an observed spectral break and superthermal electrons at higher energies. The temperatures and densities are determined from numerical integrations across the 20-point energy spectra from the spacecraft potential (+6V) to the instrumental limit, 862 eV for most of the mission since 3 Dec. 1990 and alternately at 454 eV and 862 eV during earlier intervals. Spacecraft time (SCET-UT) and position heliographic coordinates) are given for each measurement interval. The high resolution data files in the on-line data set (see below) each cover three months through 1994 and one month thereafter. The data set is provided in ASCII format and accompanied by a user's guide, also in ASCII format. The solar wind electron instrument is described in Bame, S. J., et al., "The Ulysses solar wind plasma experiment," Astron. Astrophys. Suppl. Ser., 92, No. 2, 237-265, Jan. 1992. The reprocessed version of this data set is 90-090B-05C and should be used instead for all future work.
