This data collection contains daily average key parameters for interplanetary cruise data acquired by the Voyager 2 Plasma Science (PLS) experiment. The data are written in ASCII format and provided in one file. The file V2_DAILY.FMT gives the data record format. Each record includes year, day, hour, and proton bulk velocity (km/s) components (Vr, Vt, Vn) in the RTN coordinate system. In RTN the R axis is outward from the Sun to the spacecraft, T is the cross product of the solar rotation axis and R, and N completes the orthogonal system. Also included are moment and fit values for proton density (#/cc), thermal speeds (km/s) from moment and fit values, radial distance from the Sun in AU, and various spacecraft-Sun-Earth, heliolatitude, and heliolongitude angles in degrees. The average proton kinetic energy is computed from the fit thermal speed by T(eV) = 0.0052*W*W. These cruise data were obtained from the MIT Plasma Group's anonymous FTP site at
and were accompanied by spacecraft SEDR ephemeris data cataloged at NSSDC under data set ID 77-076A-00I.
