This data set is available for viewing and downloading in CDF and ASCII format on CDAWeb
http://cdaweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/The data set provides the electron part of the 5-second (spin-averaged) FAST survey data from the Electrostatic Analysers (ESA) instrument in CDF format. It includes: the electron energy fluxes for 47 energies (4eV-30keV) in the pitch angle ranges 0-30, 60-120, and 150-180; the electron energy fluxes for 32 pitch angles (-90 to 270 deg) in the energy ranges 0.1-1keV and 1-30keV; the integrated electron energy (and number) fluxes mapped to the magnetic foot point; and orbit information. Data are available from shortly after launch (first date: Sep 21, 1996) and are updated regularly during the FAST mission time period (lag time is typically a few months).
5-sec survey data are provided for all FAST experiments. The survey data are primarily a browse product used as indices for the level_0 data.
CDAWeb supports: (1) graphical browse display of user-selected parameters and time intervals; (2) downloading of user-selected parameters in ASCII; and (3) downloading of data in CDF format. Empty (no actual data) master CDFs for the CDAWeb CDFs are maintained in the CDAWeb system at NSSDC. These are the latest versions of the labeling, display, and explanatory information carried by the CDF structure for this data set. When a screen plot or an ASCII listing is obtained from CDAWeb, the master CDF information is automatically used and displayed. However, when the user obtains data by downloading CDFs from CDAWeb, the master CDF should also be obtained separately, as its content may well differ from that of the data CDFs, which remain unchanged.
