This collection includes experiment and ancillary information on detection of interplanetary dust particles made by the Ulysses Dust Detector System from launch in October 1990 through December 1995. These Version 2.0 data were made available to NSSDCA on the Internet after final processing and peer review by the Small Bodies Node (Dust Subnode) of the Planetary Data System.
There are several different types of data files (*.tab) for mission and instrument status changes, calibration for detector rise times and charge to mass ratios, detector sensitive area, and responses with derived quantities and spacecraft geometry information for all valid impacts and noise events. Documentation files for the instrument, data set, and individual file types are provided in html format. The full downloadable version of the PDS collection is in the compressed binary file udds.tar.gz but the essential files are also provided in ASCII format.
In September 2000 the later mission data through December 1999 were submitted to PDS/SBN/DSN for peer review.
These data are available on-line at the Dust Subnode of the PDS Small Bodies Node at: http://www.psi.edu/pds/archive/udds/
