Mission Name: Mars 2The Mars 2 and 3 Photo-Television Imaging System comprised two bore-sighted film cameras and developing, scanning , and facsimile transmission equipment. One of the cameras, Zulfar, was a 350-mm narrow-angle imager with an orange filter. The other camera, Vega, was a 52-mm wide-angle camera with a filter wheel holding red, green, blue, and ultraviolet filters. The cameras carried film for 480 images, most were pre-programmed to be taken in the first 40 days. The film would be developed on-board, facsimile scanned at 1000 lines, and transmitted to Earth. Resolution at orbit periapsis was 100-1000 meters.
