Mission Name: Galileo OrbiterThis interdisciplinary scientist (IDS) investigation used data from the magnetometer (MAG), plasma (PLS), plasma wave (PWS), and energetic particles (EPD) experiments. The objectives addressed by this investigation were to: (1) study the interaction of the Jovian magnetic field with the Galilean satellites; (2) determine the internal structure of the satellites through their interaction with the ambient medium; (3) investigate the dynamics of the magnetosphere; and, (4) critically examine the transport, energization, and loss of energetic particles.
