Multispectral Electronic Self Scanning Radiometer (MESSR)

NSSDCA ID: 1990-013A-01

Mission Name: MOS-1B
Principal Investigator:

Description

The Multispectral Electronic Self-Scanning Radiometer (MESSR) is a four-band radiometer designed to provide information on coastal zone dynamics, water resources, vegetation dynamics, and geological applications. The MESSR utilized four CCD arrays corresponding to four spectral bands: VIS 0.51-0.59 micrometer, VIS 0.61-0.69 micrometer, NIR 0.72-0.80 micrometer, and NIR 0.80-1.10 micrometer. The instrument used the pushbroom scanning method giving a swath width of 100 km x 2 km for all four bands. The data rate was 8 Mbps.
