Description

The Middle Atmospheric High Resolution Spectrograph Investigation (MAHRSI) was mounted with the Cryogenic Infrared Spectrometers and Telescopes for the Atmosphere (CRISTA) on the German Shuttle Palette Satellite (SPAS) which was co-manifested with the third flight of the Atmospheric Laboratory for Applications and Science (ATLAS-3). MAHRSI was designed to measure the dayglow in the 1900-3200 Angstrom region and measured the concentrations of OH and NO in the mesosphere and themosphere (30-150 km altitude) to an accuracy of 2 km. The MAHRSI was developed by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL).
