Optical Spectrograph and InfraRed Imaging System (OSIRIS)

NSSDCA ID: 2001-007A-02

Mission Name: Odin

Description

The Optical Spectrograph and InfraRed Imaging System (OSIRIS) is designed to measure constituents of the Earth's atmosphere. OSIRIS has the dual purpose of detecting atmospheric aerosol layers and to detect abundances of O3, NO2, OCIO, and NO. OSIRIS provides simultaneous observations in two channels: a UV/Visible channel with a passband of 280-800 nm, and an IR channel with a total passband of 30 nm, centered on 1.27 microns. Further details are available at: http://www.ssc.se/ssd/papers/odeye/odeye.html
