X-Ray Spectrometer

NSSDCA ID: 2007-051A-05

Mission Name: Chang'e 1

Description

The X-Ray Spectrometer is part of the X-Ray/Gamma Ray Spectrometer system. The X-Ray Spectrometer measures the flux and energy pf X-rays with energies between 0.5 keV and 60 keV emitted from the lunar surface. The X-ray data can be used to constrain the surface composition. The system consists of sensors, a collimator, signal amplifier, data acquisition system, and controller, and has a resolution of 600 eV at 5.95 keV.
