Description

The Instrument for Lunar Seismic Activity (ILSA) on the Chandrayaan 3 lander is designed to measure seismicity around the landing site. The instrument comprises three orthogonal accelerometers based on silicon micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) technology. The dynamic range is +-0.5 g with a resolution of 100 nano-g/Hz^1/2. Bandwidth is 40 Hz. The instrument is 17.0 x 17.0 x 7.2 cm in size with a mass of 1.8 kg. Power consumption is less than 4 W.
