Description

The INstrument for landing-Roving laser Retroreflector Investigations (INRRI) is a collaboration between the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare - Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati (INFN-LNF) and the Chinese Space Agency. INRRI is a small laser retroreflector mounted on the Chang'e 6 lander to reflect laser transmissions sent from orbiting spacecraft back to their source, to determine precise distances between them. The instrument is passive with a mass of about 50 g, and is 20 x 55 mm in size.
