Plasma Experiment (ESP)

NSSDC ID: 1985-073A-02
Mission Name: Suisei
Principal Investigator: Dr. Toshifumi Mukai

Description

Solar wind plasma measurements are made with 270-deg electrostatic analyzers (ESP) in this investigation. Both ions and electrons in the energy range between 0.03 and 16 keV are measured with the ESP employing micro-channel plates. Three-dimensional distribution of the solar wind plasma within plus or minus 30 deg of the ecliptic plane will be measured.
