Cosmos 199



Cosmos 199 was a first generation, low resolution Soviet photo surveillance satellite launched from the Plesetsk cosmodrome aboard a Soyuz rocket. The mission was unsuccessful. The spacecraft failed to separate from Block I stage. An attempt was made to conduct mission without orientation. APO self destruct system destroyed spacecraft on 126th revolution over Sea of Okhotsk.
